Life Care Center of La Center, Kentucky, recently achieved a deficiency-free state survey.

To pass the state survey each year, nursing facilities must meet hundreds of criteria. These address not only nursing care and resident safety, but also patients’ rights, food services, administration and the facility’s environment. Surveyors spend several days in the building reviewing paperwork, observing resident care and interviewing residents and associates.

“A deficiency-free survey is a direct reflection of the love and talents of our staff,” said Ginger Atkins, executive director. “We work hard to meet the needs of the residents and families and are proud of this accomplishment.”

Lory Edwards, director of nursing, added, “The staff provide care daily with a team approach, homelike atmosphere and lots of love for the residents in our center and their families. I meet past and present families and residents out in the community frequently who praise the care and compassion provided by the staff.”

Life Care Center of La Center officially received the deficiency-free result on July 27, 2017.
